An Exclusive Documentary About Mimar Sinan With The Contribution of Yapı Kredi
Yapı Kredi, sponsoring hundreds of cultural projects with the aim of enriching Turkey’s cultural life, has recently supported the making of an exclusive documentary about Mimar Sinan, one of the greatest architecture of all times. The documentary named “Architecture and Love” presents Sinan The Great not only as an engineer or scientist, but also with his “love to the Unattainable and Divine” that can be witnessed on each of his works. The documentary is now on the market on a DVD format waiting to meet with architecture, art and history fans.
The documentary that provides a lyric point of view to the life of Mimar Sinan, known as one of the greatest masterminds through the history, is produced and directed by Cengiz Özdemir under the supervision and consultancy of Dr. Sinan Genim and Prof. Azmi Özcan. Prepared in association with Ministry of Culture and Tourism the documentary also provides guidance to the cultural life of Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.
Yapı Kredi Celebrates The International Handicapped People Day With Unimpeded ATM
Yapı Kredi, breaking a new ground in Turkey, has started a new project which will equip ATMs for handicapped people. Within the project called Unimpeded Banking, the selected pilot region, Kadıköy Rıhtım Branch, has been equipped for wheelchairs. According the project that will be extended to across Turkey first Yapi Kredi Unimpeded ATM will be in use on December 3rd, the international handicapped people day.
Yapı Kredi Alternative Distribution Channels Deputy General Manager Yakup Doğan mentioned that, in accordance with “Service without limits” principle of Yapı Kredi, they were working for handicapped citizens in order to provide an effective and modern access to banking services and that they had broken new ground with the establishment of this project. Having underscored that they would continue working on for handicapped people who have problems in every day life because of the lack of standards within the project, Doğan continued;
“Last year, we introduced 7/24 Online Chat for hearing-impaired people. We have been furnishing this service constantly to our over 500 customers so far. Moreover, we have started to use a new technology which transforms writing to sounds for visually-impaired people in our call centers. By means of this service, visually-impaired customers are able to know momentary fluctuations in the market. We are determined to improve our services and products in this domain.”
Record-break In Swimming From A Yapı Kredi Employee
A Turkey record was broken in swimming by a Yapi Kredi employee as a part of Yapi Kredi’s efforts since 2005 to sponsor its employees to encourage them in sport activities. Celal Altunbas, Yapi Kredi Central Branch employee, won the gold medal at International Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and Republic Maters Cup breaking Turkey’s new record in 400 m freestyle swimming with a degree of 5:45:10
In the same competition Celal Altunbas won four gold medals in 100 m butterfly, 200 m freestyle, 400 m freestyle and 800 m freestyle and a silver medal in 100 m freestyle competitions. Previously, Altunbas had won 5 gold and 1 silver medal in Izmir Masters Swimming Championship among the age group of 25-30. In total Altunbas won 14 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medals in 2009 under the sponsorship of Yapi Kredi.
Yapi Kredi provides internal sponsorships for its employees with a licence to compete in an individual sports area and who already got a registered degree in Turkish contests.
